Badimalika
Badimalika is a high-altitude pilgrimage landscape in Bajura District centered on the sacred Badimalika Temple. The journey crosses open ridges and flower-covered pastures with broad views across the far-western hills and Himalaya.
Badimalika is both a trek and a pilgrimage. The route's appeal comes from the combination of exposed highland scenery, seasonal wildflowers, village approaches and the cultural intensity of a shrine that draws large numbers of pilgrims during Janai Purnima.
Best time to visit: April to October is commonly used for the pilgrimage landscape, with the main religious season around Janai Purnima. Weather at altitude can still change rapidly, and the monsoon can make access difficult.
Getting there: Travel first into Bajura District by a combination of air or road connections and local jeep transport, then continue on foot. The practical roadhead can vary with road and weather conditions.
Recommended stay: 4–7 days for the walking route, plus access time within Far West Nepal.
Expect basic facilities and carry sufficient warm clothing and rain protection.
