Nepal's climate ranges from subtropical in the Terai lowlands to arctic on the high peaks, so 'the weather' depends entirely on where you are. Kathmandu and Pokhara have mild winters and warm, wet summers.
In the mountains, expect cold nights year-round above 3,000m, with temperatures dropping well below freezing at high camps even in peak season. Days can be warm in the sun and bitter in the shade.
The monsoon (roughly June–September) brings heavy rain to most of the country, with landslides possible on mountain roads. The rain-shadow regions of Mustang and Dolpa stay dry during this period.
