Nepal Itinerary — 10 Days
A balanced 10-day Nepal itinerary with Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara and time for either wildlife or a short trek.
Ten days gives you enough time to combine culture, mountain scenery and one additional experience without making every day a transfer day. A strong first-trip structure is Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara and either Chitwan or a short trek.
Days 1–3: explore Kathmandu Valley, splitting your time among Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur plus major sites such as Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath. Keep one half-day flexible for jet lag or weather.
Days 4–6: travel to Pokhara and use it as a base for the lakefront, viewpoints and the Annapurna skyline. One of these days can be used for a short hike, paragliding or a day focused on local food and neighborhoods.
Days 7–8: choose either Chitwan for wildlife and a change of landscape, or add a short trekking experience if mountain walking is your priority. Avoid trying to do both in the same 10-day trip unless you are comfortable with a very fast pace.
Days 9–10: return toward Kathmandu with buffer time before departure. Nepal's roads, mountain weather and domestic flights can disrupt tight schedules, so a spare night near your international departure point is valuable.
