Mardi Himal

A short, quieter ridge trek above Pokhara with remarkably close views of Machapuchare (Fishtail) and the Annapurnas. Ideal as a first trek, a short add-on, or for travelers with limited time who still want a high-mountain experience.

Difficulty: Easy. Typical duration: 4–6 days. Best season: Spring (Mar–May), Autumn (Oct–Nov).

Reaches ~4,500m at the High Camp viewpoint. The ascent is steady; take it slow on the final ridge.

Moderate fitness — short but with steep sections and a high viewpoint.

Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP) entry + agency-issued TIMS; Nepal Tourism Board lists Mardi Himal among routes requiring a licensed trekking guide

The final ridge to the viewpoint can be narrow and exposed — take care in wind or snow. Ascend slowly to manage altitude. Check conditions before the High Camp stretch in winter.

Mardi Himal is a short, affordable trek from Pokhara. Main costs are permits, the drive to Kade, teahouse food and lodging, and a guide/porter if hired. Treat figures as guidance only.
